Connect WP (the AI Engine for WordPress connector), operated by Meow Arts KK (Meow Apps), Tokyo, Japan. Last updated 2026-11-06.
What this service does
Connect WP (connectwp.ai; connections made before November 2026 run through connect.meowapps.com) lets an AI assistant (such as ChatGPT or Claude) work on a WordPress site you own. Every request from the assistant goes through the connector to your site, where AI Engine performs it with your own WordPress permissions, and the answer goes back the same way.
What passes through, and is not stored
- The content of each request and answer: posts, pages, media details, categories and tags, comments (including the commenter's name, email address and website as stored in WordPress) and editor notes that the assistant reads or writes. It is relayed in real time and never written to storage or logs.
- During the optional setup of AI Engine, WordPress gives the connector a temporary Application Password. It is used only in memory for a few seconds to install and switch on AI Engine, then revoked on your site, and it is never stored.
What is stored
- Connection records: your site address and the access granted to the assistant. Access tokens are stored only as one-way hashes. The tokens for your site are stored encrypted with a key that only the assistant holding the connection has, so they cannot be read from our storage. Records expire 30 days after the connection was last used, or when the access is revoked.
- Usage counts: for each request, your site address, the tool name, whether it succeeded, and how long it took. When you connect, set up AI Engine or a connection attempt fails, also the country it comes from, as our host works it out from your IP address (the address itself is not kept). When the assistant asks what more your site offers, the names of the extra tool groups it has (for example SEO Engine or WooCommerce). No content. Used to keep the service reliable, to prevent abuse, and to understand how the connector is used. If your site has an AI Engine Pro licence, Meow Apps may match these counts with that licence by site address.
- Page visit counts: on connectwp.ai and connect.meowapps.com, how many visits come from each source (a tag on our own links, or the name of the site that sent you) and which buttons are used. Counts only, with the country the visit comes from (worked out by our host): no cookie, no identifier, no IP address. When you follow a link from inside AI Engine, also the address of the site it was opened from, to see whether the connection started there. The pages of connectwp.ai (not the connection steps) also use Plausible, privacy-friendly analytics we run on our own server: no cookie, no personal data, visits are counted anonymously.
- Your email, only if you ask: when a connection fails, you can ask to be told when the problem is fixed. We keep that email address with your site address and the problem, use it for that single message, and delete it once it is sent, or after 90 days at the latest.
- Technical logs from our hosting provider (request time, path, status), without request content, kept for a short period.
Who processes the data
The connector runs on Cloudflare Workers (Cloudflare, Inc.). Your WordPress site and your host process the requests it receives. The AI assistant you use processes your conversations under its own privacy policy.
Your choices
- Disconnect the connector in your assistant's settings, or revoke it in WordPress under AI Engine → Settings → MCP (Connected Apps). Revoked access stops working immediately.
- To ask about or delete the records tied to your site, contact us at meowapps.com/support.
Changes
We will update this page when the service changes, with the date above.
